Hello, I’m 6 weeks postpartum (C Section Delivery) and still have vaginal bleeding. When should I expect vaginal bleeding to stop and my normal periods to continue?

Hi Shilpa

Postpartum bleeding can continue till 8 weeks of delivery . If it is persisting beyond 8 weeks you have to meet the doctor . Regarding normal periods it varies between individuals and how you are breastfeeding the baby . If you are doing exclusive breastfeeding , your periods will come later. There is a chance to get pregnant even if you didn't get your periods , you are breastfeeding . Taking proper contraception is very important .
