I'm suffering from cold and stuffy nose for more than a month, looks like it's always there even after taking a dose of medicine. I'm drinking only hot fluids and warm food. I'm 3.5 months pregnant, can I use oxymetazoline hydrochloride nasal solution otrivin oxy twice a day. It is giving good relief for upto 12 hours though it is not permanently curing my cold. I'm living in Bangalore. Please advice.

Hi,

I can understand how the stuffiness of nose may affect your daily routine and we’ll being . Ocymetazoline is pregnancy category C drug which means there are no safety data available in humans of its use however it has shown adverse effects in animals . So i would recommend you to use plain saline nasal drops for block nose . Take care
