Asked a question last year

On some times, I don’t have enough milk to satisfy the hunger of my new born baby ( age 27 days ) and he keeps on crying with hunger. What should I do? Doctor said I have enough milk too but this happens only on certain days. Can I feed formula for the baby and if then which one should I use? I have tried supplements for increasing my milk but all went in vain and in fact I got breast engorgement on the other days.

Where am I?

Dear Nileena....your breast is getting full that means it is not less milk problem. It's your latching problem. Give deep latch while feeding. Feed one time one side so baby get more hind milk and hunger will satisfy. Still hungry choose option of milk expression from breast and give. Formula will be last option.
